Hotel Praha

Hotel Praha was a modern hotel, which was built as a high-end accommodation for the needs of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and the Czechoslovak government to accommodate foreign delegations. It was located at Praha-Dejvice, čp. 2450, at Sušická street num. 20. It existed in the years 1981-2014. The building was considered a typical example of "late modern architecture" with features of late Brutalism.

The architectural competition to design the hotel was listed in 1971 and won the draft of renowned architect Jaroslav Paroubek, Arnošt Navrátil, Radek Černý and Jan Sedláček. Only the best available technology and materials were used at that time and equipment were made at major artists - such as a chandelier designed by renowned glass artist Stanislav Libenský, furniture came from, interior designer Zbynek Hřivnáč. Ceramic tiles of the complex were designed by Štěpán Kotrba and implement them Poštorná ceramic works.

The hotel was demolished in 2014.
