A wooden armchair designed by Jan Vaněk in the fifties.Vaněk was a designer and a furniture manufacturer, an architect and a co-founder of the company Spojené uměleckoprůmyslové závody, he was also a member of several associations and participated in educational and publishing activities. He worked with important architects of his era, such as Jan Kotěra or Josef Gočár, among many other projects, he produced the furniture for the functionalist Tugendhat villa in Brno. His furniture is characteristic for its pure and timeless design. This armchair is characterized by its drop-shaped front legs. The seat is upholstered with a patterned fabric in a light peach colour. It is in an excellent original condition.
