A wooden armchair designed by Jan Vaněk for the company Krásná Jizba in the 1950s. Vaněk was a designer, furniture manufacturer, architect, and co-founder of the company Spojené Uměleckoprůmyslové Závody. He worked with important architects of his era such as Jan Kotěra and Josef Gočár. Among many other projects, he contributed to the furnishings of the functionalist Villa Tugendhat in Brno. His furniture is characterized by its clean lines and timeless design.
The frame of the armchair is made of bent beechwood and stained in a light shade. The wooden parts have been completely renovated in our workshop. The straps have been replaced, and the chair has been reupholstered in a dark red fabric.
