This vase was manufactured by the Danish ceramic designer Herman August Kähler (1846 -1917). He took over the running of his father factory established in 1839. He developed his own ruby glaze known as Kähler red. His pottery workshop cooperated with a number of artists and achieved international success. This vase is decorated with quite abstract floral motive that repeats through his work, judging by its character the vase could be designed by Sofie Lundstein who designed many products of Kähler's pottery. On the base of the vase there is encraving of his initials HAK.
