A tubular chair with armrests, made in the 1960s. The design is derived from the model K10 originally produced by Slezákovy Závody, later known as Kovona Bystřice pod Hostýnem. The K10 was based on a more popular design without the armrests, and this particular chair differs from the K10 in that its armrests are placed slightly higher up. The tubular frame of the chair has a chrome-plated surface, and the smoothly curving shape of the chair’s base allows for a gentle springing motion that does not compromise stability. The chair’s seat and backrest are made of bent plywood, which is very strong yet thin. The wood is stained in a dark mahogany shade. The chair is in perfect condition, having had the wooden parts refinished and the chrome cleaned.
