Leather armchair made by the Finnish company PeeM in the 1970s. This chair was originally produced for the Czechoslovak market and distributed exclusively through Tuzex shops, which were a state-owned chain of shops that sold foreign goods that could only be bought with vouchers or foreign currency. Anything sold at Tuzex was considered exclusive and higher-quality than locally produced goods, which is why these armchairs have often been kept in excellent condition even until today.
The body of the chair is upholstered in faux leather, while the seat, cushions, and backrest are covered in genuine leather. The steel base of the chair allows for swivelling and rocking. The chair has been cleaned and treated with a special agent for leather. The leather parts are cracked in some places, but the faux leather body is in excellent condition.
