A rustic carved wooden chair from the thirties inspired by the work of the Slovak architect Dušan Jurkovič. After studying in Vienna, Jurkovič belonged to a group of architects who, inspired by the British Arts and Crafts movement, took part in the search for something called the new national style. He managed to obtain a very characteristic style that combines folk elements with skilled craftsmanship. Architects from this period followed an idea called gesamtkunstwerk and paid the same attention to interior elements and furniture as they did to the exterior. The chair made of hard solid wood is in a good condition, it has undergone a partial renovation.
