A glass lamp called Rook designed by a Czech designer Ivan Jakeš. Ivan Jakeš worked for many years for a national enterprise Osvětlovací sklo in Valašské Meziříčí. He produced hundreds of designs while working for this company, but his chess pieces designed in 1970 are probably his most famous work. While the white being the classic colour for them, they were produced in many bright colours and were exported abroad. The Rook lamp is made of two layers of cream-coloured opaque glass, when lit the upper part glows with pleasantly warm light. The lamp is fully functional, in a good original condition.
