A coffee table designed by Jan Vaněk for the company Krásná Jizba in the 1940s. Vaněk was a designer, furniture manufacturer, architect, and co-founder of the company Spojené Uměleckoprůmyslové Závody. He worked with important architects of his era such as Jan Kotěra and Josef Gočár. Among many other projects, he contributed to the furnishings of the functionalist Villa Tugendhat in Brno. His furniture is characterized by its clean lines and timeless design.
The table is made of oak and has a checkerboard top with a birch and rosewood inlay. The legs extend downwards in a characteristic teardrop shape. The table has been completely refurbished in our workshop.
