Antonín Hepnar is an artist, designer, craftsman and master wood-turner. He completed his studies at the high school of arts, architecture and design in Prague in 1953. From that time on he focused on the creation of both artistic and utilitarian wooden objects. He creates bowls, candlesticks, lamps, decorative items, sculptures, and also during the seventies and eighties he participated in the creation of several interior realizations, such as that of Hotel Praha or the remodeling of the church interior church for the new liturgy in Ledeč Sázavou (1970). He still works in his studio in Čakovičky near Prague.
Unique big bowl made of walnut wood designed and made by Czech artist and designer Antonín Hepnar. In his work he uses special techniques of wood turning and his products have typical velvety smooth surface. This originally shaped bowl with two round holds on the side leaves the natural structure and colour of the wood visible and prominent.
