Detailed information

Product detailed description

A small table lamp nicknamed "the Chinese man", designed by Helena Frantová in 1953. Frantová is primarily a jewellery designer, and she studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture & Design in Prague in the sculpture studio of Bedřich Stefan and the metalworking studio of Jan Nušl. The entire modernist frame of the lamp is made of metal with a coppery surface. The circular lampshade, which resembles a traditional Chinese hat, is fittingly made of parchment, which is stitched to the rim with an ecru string. Thanks to its lightweight metal frame, this lamp can be used as a tabletop reading lamp or hung on a wall. The body of the lamp has not been refurbished, but the shade has been replaced with new parchment according to the original design. The lamp takes one bulb with a size E27 socket.
