Boxing gloves
Code: 2505003Product detailed description
A pair of genuine leather boxing gloves from around the 1960s. Boxing gloves with padding, so called mufflers, were an invention of the Englishman Jack Broughton who created them for his students in the middle of the eighteenth century. Until then boxers only used basic straps of leather or rope, including those competing at the ancient Olympic Games.
These gloves are made from fine genuine leather; the outer part that protects the backs of the hands is dark brown and the palms are ochre. The gloves can be laced up on the inner side of wrists. They are in very good original condition with firm seams, without any major wear or tear.
They would make a great interior decoration or be a great gift for a boxer with a hand size 12.
