Floor Lamp EXPO 58 Type S 101
Code: 2502013Product detailed description
A tall floor lamp designed for EXPO 58 in Brussels by the company Lidokov under the designation S 101. Expo 58 was one of the most famous world exhibitions and the first major exhibition organized after World War II, attracting a large number of artists and visitors from around the world and bringing Czechoslovakia great recognition and a long list of awards. Following Czechoslovakia's success at the exhibition, the term "Brussels style" became established in the Czech milieu for late modernist expression, especially in applied art and design at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s.
The lamp is made of three chrome-plated steel tubes, which are divided in the middle by a conical ring with a switch. Each tube has a bendable neck at the top and is topped with a colored parchment lampshade. The legs are finished with plastic ball-shaped caps. The lamp has been thoroughly cleaned in our workshop and completed with new lampshades made of colored parchment. There are few minor scratches on the legs. The lamp is in excellent condition and lights up with three E27 bulbs.
