A wooden armchair designed by Jan Vaněk in the 1960s. Vaněk was a designer, furniture manufacturer, architect, and co-founder of the company Spojené Uměleckoprůmyslové Závody. He worked with important architects of his era such as Jan Kotěra and Josef Gočár. Among many other projects, he contributed to the furnishings of the functionalist Villa Tugendhat in Brno. His furniture is characterized by its clean lines and timeless design. He designed this armchair at the end of his career, around the time of Expo 58, and it is a representative of the Brussels style.
The armchair has a solid oak frame with a light stain. It has been completely refurbished in our workshop including new upholstery and new jute straps.
