Le Corbusier Sofa
Code: 2510000Product detailed description
The timeless modernist Le Corbusier sofa was first designed in 1928 as a collaborative effort of architects and designers Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand. Later, the design was reproduced with the same precision by Alivar, a company that embodies quality Italian craftsmanship.
This two-seater LC2 model dates back to the 1980s and is an expression of the perfect balance between geometric precision and architectural purity and exceptional comfort, which is characteristic of 20th-century design.
The sofa's frame is made of polished chrome-plated steel and is complemented by seven cushions upholstered in high-quality black leather. It was the separation of the upholstery from the frame that was a revolutionary solution in modern seating design. The lower part consists of a metal grid with elastic straps, and the seats are covered with fabric bearing the Alivar logo.
The sofa is in excellent original condition. The right rear corner at the top of the backrest is slightly torn, and the leather has minor abrasions in places, as can be seen in the photos.
