Orange Pendant
Code: 2509001Product detailed description
This glass pendant was made in the 1970s at the Osvětlovací sklo factory in Valašské Meziříčí, probably based on a design by Štěpán Tabery. The Valašské Meziříčí glassworks was formerly the main factory of S. Reich & Co., the largest manufacturer of lighting glass in Austria-Hungary.
The lampshade is made of two-layer opal glass: milky white on the inside and a rich orange on the outside. This gives the pendant a pleasant, warm and subdued light. With its rounded shapes and rich colour, it is a prime example of the Brussels style. It hangs from a brass rod and is illuminated by one E27 bulb.
The pendant is in excellent original condition, only the rod is scratched in places and has patina.
