Detailed information

Product detailed description

A small bookcase designed in the 1930s by architect Antonín Boček for the Družstevní práce Krásná jizba company. The cultural and social organization Družstevní práce was founded in 1927 as a shop selling applied art by prominent artists and a center for modern design. It brought together designers, manufacturers, and distributors of handmade arts and crafts, applied arts, and modern design with the aim of mass-producing items of high artistic quality at affordable prices. The Krásná jizba brand sold high-quality items of top functionality and design. In 1958, Krásná jizba became part of the Centre for Folk Art Production (ÚLUV), which closed production in 1995.

The bookcase has an atypical shape and offers four levels of shelves for books and small items. The structure is made of solid oak in combination with oak veneered plywood. The wood is varnished and stained in a light brown shade, and the edges are rounded. It is in excellent condition after a complete renovation in our workshop.
