Original print by Helena Zmatlíková from 1968, depicting a boy as an allegory of summer. This print is part of a series depicting the four seasons, which you can also find in our selection. The print is framed in a brown wooden frame with a cream-coloured mountboard and hanging loop. It is in very good original condition. The frame is only slightly scuffed, with a torn cardboard on the reverse.
Zmatlíková was a Czech artist who ranks among the twenty most published Czechoslovak illustrators of the 20th century. She became famous for her detailed children's book illustrations characterised by bold lines, clean colours, and "big-eyed" characters.
