Type 1042 armchair designed in 1978 by Antonín Šuman for the state-owned company TON. Šuman became famous for his bentwood designs, having created a total of more than 650 models of seating furniture. He received numerous awards at international exhibitions and trade fairs, and his designs were featured, for example, at the 12th Milan Triennale and at EXPO 67 in Montreal. He also contributed to the interiors of Prague’s Palace of Culture and the National Theater.
The armchair has a frame made of bent beech wood stained a light brown shade with a matte finish. The upholstered seat has been newly covered in dark green fabric. The armchair is in great condition after a complete renovation in our workshop.
