TON Green Armchair
Code: 2508003Product detailed description
Wooden oval armchair TON from the 1950s with green upholstery. The armchair is upholstered with soft velvet fabric in a moss shade. The back is vertically quilted and the seat is complemented by buttons in the same colour. The silhouette of the chair is framed by a bent beech wood rim stained in a brown-rust shade and coated with glossy varnish. The chair stands on four short legs of the same colour.
In 1861, TON was the first company to use hand-bending technology in the production of wood. The technology involves a long production process in which the wood is stored at a certain percentage of humidity. After drying, the wood is steamed in special vats for several hours and then placed in a mould, where it is shaped according to a specific form.
The armchair is in excellent original condition, the upholstery is well preserved, and the wooden structure is only slightly scuffed in places.
