ÚLUV bookcase
Code: 2604031Product detailed description
Wooden bookcase made in the 1960s by ÚLUV. The Center for Folk and Artistic Production (ÚLUV) was established in 1948 by an association of several brands, including the well-known Krásná jizba, which functioned as a showroom and also hosted exhibitions and cultural events. It focused on the sale of folk and artistic handicrafts made from natural materials.
The bookcase is made of plywood veneered with oak veneer in combination with rattan elements. It has a solid construction, several levels of storage shelves with adjustable height, an opening door in the middle, and two pull-out drawers at the bottom.
The bookcase is in good original condition. The wood is faded and weathered in places, and two shelves are missing. The rattan weaving on one drawer has come loose, the handles on the cabinet doors are unvarnished and the bottom shelf has a scratched surface. The rattan weaving is splattered in places with a semi-transparent yellow paint.
