Wine opener Walter Bosse
Code: 2311020Product detailed description
Copper bottle opener in the shape of a cat, designed by Walter Bosse in the 1950s.
Walter Bosse (1904-1979) was a Viennese artist known for his modernist bronze animal figures and grotesques. In the late 1940s, Bosse began experimenting with brass, coating his ceramic figurines with a metallic layer to protect them from breakage. In the early 1950s, Bosse began producing his 'Black Golden' line of brass figurines, as well as small everyday objects such as letter openers, key rings, corkscrews and pencil holders, all of which bore his distinctive 'black and gold' look.
The letter opener is in its original condition.
