A rare wooden dining chair, type H-373, designed in the 1940s by Jindřich Halabala for Uměleckoprůmyslové závody. Halabala worked at the UP Závody headquarters in Brno, where he held the position of chief architect and studio manager from 1930. Halabala was originally a carpenter and later studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design at the studio of Professor Pavel Janák.
The thin seat and backrest are made of beech plywood covered with walnut veneer and stained in a rich brown shade with a glossy finish. The chair has a solid construction, graceful lines, and exceptionally beautiful wood grain. It is in very good original condition corresponding to its age. The wood has minor scratches and patina, as can be seen in the photos.
